VICTOR VASARELY 1908-1997, Hungarian

Victor Vasarely, was a Hungarian-French artist, who is widely accepted as a “grandfather” and leader of the Op art movement. His work entitled Zebra, created in the 1930’s, is considered by some to be one of the earliest examples of Op art. Born on April 9, 1906 in Pécs, Austria-Hungary Died on March 15, 1997 (aged 90) in Paris, France.
